Pantron
ISG-N single channel opto sensors with manual sensitivity setting, providing high range, high power and dust immunity. The sensitivity is adjustable by potentiometer.

ISG-A single channel opto sensors with automatic setting are used for demanding switching tasks, where constant sensitivity is desired. Pollution, misalignment and other disturbances are constantly corrected. Special teach-in models even allow a distinction of objects due to their transparency.

Amplifiers operate with modulated infrared light which provides high immunity to ambient light. The electronic circuit is designed to detect only those signals with the correct frequency and phase relation. This almost completely excludes interference from other barriers. The processor-controlled automatic amplifier (patented Pantron invention) is the further development of the standard amplifier. No adjustments are required. The switching point adjusts automatically according to the predominate conditions (dirt, dust, ambient light, etc.) so that it remains constant. This ensures optimum performance from the system at all times. Features include: two sensitivity settings, transistor output for wear-free switching, and alarm output.

This function gives the device the ability to teach for transparent and limited infrared permeable objects and is able to recognize the objects later. The device is able to differentiate between full and empty packaging, to detect defective coating and double layers in the paper industry and much more. Alternatively, the normal automatic operating mode may be used and includes a test function and diagnostics. The dual-frequency change-over is useful to decouple nearby light barriers. By use of dark switching it is possible to reverse the switching behavior of the relay. The test input is needed for externally activating the teach process, but may also be used as an automatic function test when activated during automatic operating mode. The alarm output indicates that the sensors are too contaminated. Wear-free transistor outputs ensure high switching sequences and reliable continuous operation.
