The ICL-6000 is a six-channel opto sensor which is specially tailored to operate in car washes. This device replaces six single-channel opto sensors with the advantage of no mutual interaction between each single channel. Four level settings are used for different installation situations in a car wash. The automatic operating mode provides a secure functionality that adjusts to external interferences, deterioration and misalignment of the sensors. The device has semiconductor outputs.
The device settings can be changed with the related software only. It is possible to program eight different basic settings which can be selected via DIP switch. An integrated test button is used for determining sensor alignment and also reporting wire breakage. The alarm output displays if the sensors are too polluted.
The Master/Slave operation provides the possibility to synchronize two of the following amplifiers: ICL-2000, ICL-6000 and ICL-8000. That means that a system of two combined amplifiers works with 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 or even 16 totally independent channels.
Using the test input via an external connection, an automatic function test can be activated. The analog output may also be used for the alignment of the sensors. One LED scale shows the switching status for each channel while another shows that the signal strength is sufficient. An alarm LED and alarm output acts as a contamination indicator and sensor breakdown signal. All connections use quick-connect plugs.
