RS232 / RS422

The RF42 laser sensor measures distances up to 100 m with millimetre accuracy and has an integrated RS232 / RS422 interface. A digital switching output and a 4...20 mA analogue output are also available. The laser diode beam divergence is 0.6 mrad, which enables measurement of small objects as well. The sensor works in the gigahertz range and has a maximum output frequency of 10 / 50 Hz. The RF41 is an analogue of the LDM42A rangefinder and is available in an open modular design for designers and developers.

The RF42 laser sensor is an opto-electronic non-contact distance sensor for industrial applications. It works by measuring with a phase comparison of amplitude modulated signals. The RF41 offers high measuring accuracy irrespective of the surface nature of the object to be measured. The sensor emits a thin, highly visible red laser beam which allows the sensor to be easily and accurately positioned in the correct position.

The sensor provides millimetre-accurate distance measurement on objects with different surfaces, it has a high range, and on objects with an additional reflector the range exceeds 100 m. Even at sub-zero temperatures, the transmitter is highly accurate, has a wide supply voltage range and low power consumption. The safe Class 2 laser transmitter guarantees a high level of safety for operating personnel. The actual performance of the laser rangefinder depends on the reflective properties of the object to be measured, the influence of ambient light and atmospheric conditions.
