Modular laser rangefinders without housing ASTECH
Laser rangefinder RF601 open module
The RF601 is an OEM laser distance measurement module for extrem long distances and poorly reflecting targets. With its very small form factor it can easily be integrated in existing sensor or surveillance systems. The used invisible infrared laser beam makes the RF601 to be used unnoticed in public places or applications where people are present. The RF601 is unique on the market. With its special features it makes applications solvable which provide high demands on measuring range and compactness. The RF601 uses a pulsed time-of-flight principle with statistic data evaluation. With cooperative targets distance detections up to 3000 m are possible. With the wide supply voltage range the RF601 can be operated in microcontroller environments. Data transmission is done via an UART interface with CMOS level. The compact form factor and light weight makes the integration of the RF601 in existing sensor systems very easy. The solid aluminum body will be fastened by four thread holes for M4 screws. With the new OEM modules RF601 and RF601F, ASTECH is pushing into previously unattained distance ranges. Using a measuring principle that was previously only reserved for military rangefinders, distance measurements of up to 3000 m are possible without special reflectors or target plates. The achievable measurement uncertainties are less than one metre. The laser source is a 905 nm semiconductor laser diode of laser class 1 or 1M. The new modules are particularly suitable for applications in the port, railway and logistics sectors where poorly reflecting where poorly reflecting targets need to be detected at the greatest possible distance and their position tracked. An example of this are support systems for docking and casting off processes of large ships. The combination of an RF601 for the long range and an RF70A for the close range allows the entire distance range from the harbour entrance to the berth to be covered. In addition, with the increased data rate of the RF601F of 400 Hz, 2D or 3D scanning applications for extremely large areas in geodesy and landscape monitoring can also be realised. Due to the very compact dimensions, the new modules are also suitable for use in drones or UAV applications.
